What could a game teach you?
We had our 'regular' poker game a few nights ago (regular in this case meaning the first one in about 4 months) and had a really good time. This is not a big money game - for this particular group it's way more about the competition and just catching up and having a good time.
However it did get me to thinking about parallels between success at the poker table and success with your business.

 Constant Contact
I was actually on the verge of dropping Constant Contact as my newsletter provider based on a really strong recommendation for iContact from a friend of mine. I was happy with Constant Contact so far, but there were 1 or 2 nagging problems and he was very positive on iContact (and it's cheaper).
However after spending a couple of hours actually testing out some of the competition, I realized that even with some issues Constant Contact is a much better fit for what I'm doing right now. iContact was good - but I couldn't do what I'm doing now, at least not without a lot of extra work. Also the support at Constant Contact is pretty spectacular - certainly worth rewarding with some loyalty.
Give it a trial run (for free) and see if it might not be a good solution for you as well.

Okay - so it's a stretch to call this culture. Alright, it's not culture per se, but it is POP culture and this is my newsletter so I'm going to say that counts.
Anyway, if you've never seen this show you need to give it a chance. Not only is there an outstanding cast, but there is an abundance of creative ideas and clever writing. I know it's not for everyone, but if you like to 'get away from the real world' every now and then, then this might be just the break you're looking for.
